PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) is a multidimensional approach to the treatment of speech production disorders.  In evaluation, treatment and ongoing assessment, PROMPT takes into consideration the mental, physical, and emotional domains, all of which play key roles in effective communication.

PROMPT technique uses touch cues (along with auditory and visual cues as needed)  to the tongue, jaw, and lips to guide the client through a targeted sound, word, phrase, or sentence.

PROMPT has been used to effectively work with phonological, developmentally delayed, dysarthric, dyspraxic, hearing-impaired, autistic spectrum, and fluency disorders.  The most common patients have motor speech disorders, articulation problems or are non-verbal children.

I completed the second level of PROMPT training (i.e., PROMPT Bridging Course) in 2012.
